I have brought this section back in because the pools manager has been consistently asked by myself and the Sales Manager to keep the Tropicana pool within their own guidelines of 29 to 32 degrees. We had to nag for weeks at the beginning of the season to get a proper temperature and then during the heat wave they decided to up the temperature to a ridiculous level. I know that for a couple of days there was a genuine fault with the boilers and you could brew tea in the pool at that time.
Apart from that time I am certain that this was done on purpose so that people would complain about the pool being too warm.
Now that the weather is cooler, despite frequent requests, the pool temperature has not risen above 26 degrees. Since they are soon going to be short staffed I think it is just a ploy to keep people from the pool so they can close it.
I WAS TALKING TO THIS ESKIMO BY THE POOLSIDE THE OTHER DAY AND HE INFORMED ME THAT THE REASON FOR THE POOL BEING MAINTAINED AT SUCH A LOW TEMPERATURE WAS TO ENCOURAGE PENGUINS TO THE AREA AS PART OF THE DAVID BELLAMY AWARD CAMPAIGN.
ANOTHER FANTASTIC IDEA FROM THE ROCKLEY THINK TANK! WELL IT DOES NOT SOUND ANY LESS FEASIBLE THAN MANY OF THE OFFICIAL EXCUSES WE HEAR.
