An open letter to the owners association
Having purchased our caravan at Rockley Park in July and after spending most of the summer plus most weekends there since, I feel the need to address some of the comments i have heard off other owners and read in the latest newsletter.
It seems to me that there is a group of owners that have taken it upon themselves to have a pop at the management of the Park over every little thing that they disagree with!
Rockley Park is a big site with a lot of owners and guests using the facilities over the coarse of a year. The management are put in place to ensure the park is run as smoothly, safely, fairly and yes as profitably as possible. They have decisions to make, a budget to stick to, the safety of guests and staff to consider, meetings to attend. All the things needed to run a Site of its Size.
Okay, decisions which some of us disagree with will be made. This happens in all walks of life. I'm also not happy with the site shutting early or the opening hours in Hardys. But the main complex is being improved in a big way, in an effort to make it a more enjoyable for us all to enjoy. Can some of you not put up with the park shutting early in order to improve the facilities for us ALL?
I notice in the last newsletter the matter of the security on park was questioned.. As i understand it, it related to drinking up times in Hardys? and as i also understand it, the argument was not all as one sided as printed in the newsletter? And that was confirmed to me by an owner who witnessed the incident. I have only really had contact with the site security on three occasions since i came onto Rockley. The first time being when my mother was taken ill, Security attended, dealt with calling the ambulance and retrieving my wife and myself from the hospital afterwards. The second incedent was when we had trouble with some people off site breaking into our car, or should i say TRYING, because security spotted and caught them. Then last week while driving through the park i was warned the speed limit was 10mph, fine i was doing 30mph, i was in the wrong. The rough comes with the smooth. I wonder how many of us could face up to some of the situations ANY person involved in the security industry often have to deal with?
If you feel the need to constantly run the park and the management down then i think its about time you questioned your reasons for being on Rockley park. You dont get this much back stabbing on a rough run down council estate.
