just a note from an owner at primrose valley, currently all new caravans on site are not allowed to have a veranda. to this end I was looking at literature from caravan sale and www.ownersexclusive.com have you noticed that they are advertising caravans with verandas. i would have thought that the trading standards and advertising standards would be most interested in this false advertising,.
Hi,
I was wondering if you could possibly give me some advice. I have just come acroos your web site and was rather alarmed at most of the comments aimed at Bourne Leisure and their business practice.
I have recently returned from a holiday at Primrose Valley near Filey where we decided to purchase a new Willerby Bermuda at a cost of £33,500. We had hoped for the first couple of years to more or less hand it over to Bourne to sublet on the hopes that it would generate a good revenue. Speaking to the sales guy (and on the basis that they could guarantee £6500) we had hoped in the figure of approx £8 -£10k net return. Considering this was based on a 65% occupancy, a 20% discount on brochure price and after their fees this seemed like a good opportunity. We have a 18month old daughter and could use the caravan for a couple of weeks in the period that is was not rented.
I have paid a £1000 deposit (which they say is refundable - I hope it is!!!!!!!).
Hi
Just some thoughts for all you owners out there (bourne leisure mugs) On reading the official Code of Practise as issued to me by Bourne Leisure i feel we have them on the run as follows
1 selling techniques
the park ownerand his staff must not use and must gaurd against and actively discourage his agents from using sales techniques wich place undue or improper pressure on the consumer
2 resale of caravans
a caravan owner may reasonably expect to recieve a fair price for his caravan if he chooses to sell his caravan
3 pitch fees
where an increase in pitch fees is proposed the park owner shall give the caravan owner an explination in writing of the reasons for the proposed increase and must do so 3 months before any such increase
the full draft can be downloaded from any bourne leisure web site
No 2 might just get the salesmen to give us a fair crack of the whip
