Hi Dave,
Just returned from the latest Rockley jaunt and thought I'd offer my views..........
Pleased to say it's mostly positive - The new showbar layout works much better and it's much easier to get to the tables now. Glass collection is better but still a bit slow.
Another moan about it is that my kids joined in 'Bradley's making morning' and were sitting at tables with the previous night's beer still on them. Tables that were wiped must have been done with the same cloth for every table in there....smelly, sticky and er, yuk! I did comment to a barman one night that my feet were sticking to the flooring in front of the bar and he replied, 'It's not my fault, the cleaners are crap and they dont clean...' Ah, that makes it ok then.
The Oasis was far better this year with tables being cleared and cleaned more often and on the two occasions we ate in there the service was superb and the food was even better 10/10 to the chefs (I made a point of telling them personally how much better the food was this year).
The indoor pool seemed a bit chilly but maybe I am going soft in my old age....
Security was superb again with exceptionally polite and courteous staff, well done manager Martin.
Despite being a whole new set of Funstars they were good, Tom (Manager I think) was excellent and Helen was fantastic, always a lovely smiling face and a superb dancer as well.
The shop was stocked far better this time and the staff were very friendly as they were last year.
We rented again through Book Directly, a private owners group who come highly recommended but the Owners Reception at Rockley were very disorganised again this year, couldnt find our Funworks passes, then lost the caravan keys..... considering they make a big thing about organising sub-letting to offset the cost of ownership they should really get their act together.
In summary, Food 10/10.............Bars 8/10..........Cleaners 4/10..........Security 10/10..........Funstars 9/10 (Helen was 10/10 and should become Manager if Tom leaves)
Will be back next year!
