Hardy’s Report June 2006
As an owner for several years I am pleased to have been given the opportunity of airing my thoughts on this very informative web site which I wish I had read before I purchased.
My main beef about Hardy’s is the intimidating atmosphere as you enter. My wife and I have gone in several times to be faced by a large group of very loud owners which we find rather uncomfortable. On one occasion, a few weeks ago, this vinegar faced lady in the group actually glared at us and then started whispering behind her hand to another owner. My wife was extremely upset so we just walked straight through to Oasis bar instead of stopping for a drink.
What a welcome new owners have to face.
As for Hardy’s bar it should be called Hardy’s part time bar as it is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday on an evening, I bet new owners are not told this when they are shown round.
We thoroughly enjoyed the V.D. Day 60th anniversary “do” last year but did not attend the 60th+ 1 this year. Can we have a new theme next year or will it be 60th+2.
The Owners Breakfast on a Sunday can now only be described as a shambles, who knows a month ahead whether the want to book a breakfast on a particular day. I complained about this only to be told “ oh well you have more cheese and wine events”.
We used to really enjoy the cheese and wine events but even these are now for a short period on a Sunday afternoon and are so badly attended that the staff have to take away the excess wine and dispose of it themselves (Am I being cynical, can that be the reason)
Well that’s that off my chest, hope I get another opportunity to do this as I will keep ever vigilant.
