Hi Dave.
As an annual contributor to the Holidaymaker's page I would like to thank you for saving us a huge amount of money.
Your Website has illustrated to us what a money pit a caravan at Rockley, or other BL Parks would be ; this has made our minds up not to buy a 'van.
I am seriously considering not holidaying at a BL park anymore. I am self employed and if I treated my customers with the contempt that BL do I would go bust in a matter of months.
HELP!
NEED TO GET RID OF CARAVAN AT DEVON CLIFFS. OFFERED £9.000 OWE 21,000 FARCE!
ANY SUGGESTIONS BEFORE I END UP GETTING REPOSESSED
please send info on caravan insurance and does anyone have any good advice on what is best to do as regards heating the caravan we have just changed our van so we have double glazing and central heating and would like to know if it is best to leave it off if we are not around for a week or two or keep it running on low all the time any comments would be gratefully appreciated many thanks
Is this a fact, or only a rumour?I can well believe it does happen but am really shocked. Has anyone been disciplined for it? We were very angry when we heard that the gas was going off for 2 months and agree with your comments in the news letter. We shouldn’t be that surprised though, as every year Rockley manages to do something to upset us owners. We did have a meeting with G and he said this was in line with other parks and he,s had so many complaints from other people who are having to pay for the people who have gas central heating, that he has decided to turn it off.John Wood says the bottles have to be replaced as not enough gas to supply park and having to add extra tanks. Last year it was the green box campaign..and I notice these are gradually making a comeback. What next I wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Dave
How can they do this at Rockley Park? A lot of people at Devon Cliffs keep their central heating ticking over during the winter, so if they cut the gas here there would be trouble. Can people that want a gas supply kept on not change to gas bottles? A 47kg would keep a van ticking over at a minimal temperature on a timer switch for ages.
A lot of us at Devon Cliffs use Flo gas and we can get the 47kg bottles for 32.08 delivered. Others just bring in their own gas in the back of their cars.
Are you sure that it is a gas bottle and not a gas tank for £100? If it isn't a tank then it should be.
Another thought.
When I had a gas supply at one of my houses, we had the gas cut off for emergency repairs to the electric supply. In fact the whole road was cut off.
The gas board came and checked that the supply was off properly at each property and then sealed their meter thing.
When the gas went back on, we were not allowed to touch anything. The gas board had to turn each property on and check that everything was ok. Had there been any problems we could have blown ourselves up.
Sureley this health and safety issue could cause a problem when the supply is turned back on again. Are BL going to supply a team of Corgi gas men to carry out this operation?
Is the gas supply charge being reduced accordingly?
I doubt it.
hi Dave
we at Hafan-
however i did point out we may end up with boiler problems at BL cost................
Hi David,
I would be interested to find out if any other Bourne Leisure caravan parks are finding it necessary to cut off the supply of gas during Jan/Feb closedown and if so, what is the given reason.
Hi Dave
We are on the blue dolphin park, and we loose every thing for the last month including
heating in the only bar that remains open the twenty or so of us that go right to
the end wrap up in overcoats an thermals just to beat the bast-
The only compensation is that we know for sure that we won’t get any holiday makers gate crashing this owners Exclusive bash: lol
