Mr & Mrs S. ???????? Account No ????????
10th Jan 2008
Dear Sir/Madame I have been advised by one of your employees to put in writing our ongoing problems that we have experience since purchasing a brand new static caravan at Rockley Park, Poole, Dorset on the 9th April 2007. Initially, before the purchase we were offered a number of different pitches for the caravan to be sited on including Bay Hollow, Pine Ridge and Rockley Vale areas but the actual pitches were not exactly what we wanted. These pitches were offered at no extra cost. It was then agreed that we would take a temporary pitch with the intention that they would move us asap. This has not been the case. The After sales service has been somewhat disappointing as it has meant a number of meetings and telephones calls made by ourselves to try and resolve these ongoing issues. We asked for a second meeting back in August 2007 as we had heard nothing from Mr G. Plant (General Manager) or his staff about pitches and several things that
were outstanding that they had promised would be fixed within and around the caravan.
The Salesmen Joe Lemon had made a number of promises to us and also reassured
us that it wouldn`t be long before we would get our permanent pitch. He also arranged
for me to meet up with a company called Vinyl Solutions to install a small veranda
to go outside the caravan door he even showed us the one we would be getting, first
of all this was free of charge and then it changed to £400.00, I took the time
to travel down to the caravan late one evening on a Wednesday and no-
down to lies and broken promises. We were even offered a cash payment on top of a weekend rental payment by Joe Lemon in order to give our caravan up as they had overbooked. When we went to reception to explain that we were not going to give it up we were bombarded with inappropriate comments that left us upset and once again embarrassed. As a result of these ongoing issues I would kindly like you to proceed on our behalf as your colleague has advised that all of the above would fall into your Section 75 as Rockley Park are in a breach of contract. Mr G.Plant has been fully aware of these problems and unfortunately done nothing to resolve any of them. We have been down to the park once only since August 2007 and noticed a couple of pitches were empty but everytime we make enquiries they put a premium of up to £6000. This happened again last week so we tried to contact Mr G.Plant but he didn`t return our calls until 2 days later, again
another premium for this pitch. It was also agreed that we should provide them with a list of pitches this was done back in May 2007. I would just like to add that on the 13th August Mr G.Plant wrote to us after we had contacted their Head Office about the service and ongoing problems and offered a full refund of our deposit of £6941.00 and repayments that had been made to date of £1241.40 along with full and final settlement of the outstanding finance. At the time we were moving house and my wife emailed them to let them know that we would make a decision when we were next at the park which would also give us an opportunity to see if things had improved, we heard nothing. We then returned to the caravan in Oct 2007 and yet again called another meeting with Mr G. Plant as things had not improved or been sorted we said that we would now like to accept his offer that he had put to us (copy enclosed) and he replied that the offer no longer
stood. We were once again given reassurance that they were going to sort everything out; unfortunately we were right in having little faith as no further contact has been forthcoming by them. I look forward to your response. Yours Sincerely ????? Please note : Original sent via post
Hi
We've had our van for 2 years now and we may need to sell it to raise cash to buy
somewhere permanent to live (we live abroad and are moving
back to the UK). Can you
give me any help/information/contacts etc which would make this easier for us? I've
been reading some of the
horror stories on your website and would like to avoid any
if possible.
just considering purchasing a static at far grange any advice re contracts or pitfalls?
Hi there,
I am considering buying a caravan at Rockley Park. I dont know much about
caravans etc. Do you have to buy a van from Bourne Leisure or can caravans be bought
privately? If so where would I find out about this? Any other info would be greatly
received.
