Hi Rockley park owners.
I have had a problem on another site, my children and myself were very badly threatened by another site user, it goes back to September 2005, we followed the National Caravan Councils advise, we went through conciliation and then onto arbitration. They pulled out off arbitration after the deadline for submissions had been passed. I am now looking at taking them to County Court. I am looking for any relevant information, and suggestions of a lawyer. Also I think that Park Holidays UK have breached their membership agreement with the National Caravan Council, any advice at all, or example of other people in similar circumstances would be much appreciated. I have attached a letter that I have sent to my MP, if you wish to read more detail, you will find a good outline there. My home email is ?????????
At least finding your site makes me realise that I am not the only one battling. This has really made me mad, especially as it involves children.
Kind regards
Hello Dave,
I just thought I would update you on our situation. We have written to Harrison Leisure on several occasions regarding site fees, demolition of clubhouse, state of the site etc and have received replies, but not from them, only a representative. They dont seem to want to talk to us. We have had 2 meetings with the rep. but when she has reported back to Harrisons with our concerns they have been dismissed. They have started to tell lies; they say they have replied to a letter when they have not; they have said they have arranged to repair a deck when they have not, and I'm sure there will be many more.
We arranged an emergency meeting of the association last night because the latest correspondence from them, has given us a time limit on the payment of fees (28 days). These are the fees we were told to keep back by BH&HPA (this years increase) and can withhold until the dispute is settled. Harrisons seem to think that it IS settled. The vote was unanimous to still withhold the fees.
It is looking very much like this dispute will escalate to some form of hearing and be decided by an independent body (trading standards or office of fair trading). I am not sure if we are the first caravan park association to try to prosecute a site owner, but I can't find any on the internet, other than ones taken by local councils.
I will keep you informed of our decisions and any results, should we get them.
The website is picking up hits every day.
I just noticed that there is an entry about legal action -
send it off
Could you send
me the details, as it may be interesting.
Hi Dave
Do you have a phone number i can call you on and can you send me the solicitors
details please. I am just awaiting a reply phone call from Bourne Leisure, after
following up the email this morning, bet it doesn't materialise.
Has anyone successfully
beaten bourne leisure as I am determined not to get ripped off.
